Friederike Paetzold began her career as a painter, but soon left painting to explore a new medium: computers. Her first complete work, The Compound, won a New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship in 1997. She currently supports herself as a graphic designer specializing in websites, while doing her own art projects in the online, interactive medium.
